PERSONALITY

☼ Positive Personality Traits☾ Negative Personality Traits
[+] Amicable: With her bright and cheering demeanor, Harper strives to exude a friendly presence to those around her. Good Day or Bad, this farmer girl make sures to wear her beaming smile. Not wanting to put a damper on anyone elses day by wearing a frown.[-] Overly Trusting: While her love for helping others can typically be a good thing, it also tends to leave her open to being used. And the saddest part is she won't even realize she is unless another tells her so.
[+] Active: This girl always has to be doing something at some point. whether it be doing chores on the farm to helping a random stranger Harper is always up for the task.[-] Clingy: Harper tends to hold on dearly to all that she adores. Perhaps, unhealthily so. For she has yet to learn nor understand the meaning of rejection.
[+] Dedicated: It doesn't take much to get Harper's mind focused on to an idea or task. But once the idea has been leeched, Harper will stop at nothing until she sees it through.[-] Clumsy: No matter the weather, time of day, or footwear, this girl always seems to be a walking disaster. She believes she has been cursed with the Clumsy spell after walking under her fathers ladder one too many times.
[+] Dependable: Rain or shine you can always count on Harper to lend a helping hand if you're in need. She will always put another's well being before her own. Because seeing another smile is the best kind of medicine the world can give.[-] Compulsive: When an idea enters that head of hers, she will not stop until it is complete. It does not matter if she is beyond fatigued and on the verge of collapse. She will see her mission through. For her mind will not let her rest until she does so
[+] Passionate: If it's not obvious by her determination, Harper lives her life by following her heart. Everything she does she gives it her all, not slacking for a moment.[-] Airheaded: To this day she only sees the good in life and refuses to acknowledge the bad. That one track positive mindset of hers making her easily manipulable. ...Must run in the family,

Background

A new chick has been hatchedBorn in the empire of Roulin, the Cooper family owned and raised an Ostrich Ranch for many generations. The eggs they produced helped create bountiful meals from a single serving, and the feathers? Used to fill and create the softest pillows in the region. From those two items alone the Cooper family was able to create a comfortable living for their family. A family, that soon gained one new leaf on its family tree. From the moment Harper could crawl she was determined to help out on the family farm. She never saw her families ostriches as mere farm animals but rather, she saw them as fellow family members. She adored each and every one of them. Her parents dreaded the time she was finally able to talk as she named each and every Ostrich that was born on the farm. And that in turn meant, Harper would throw an absolute tantrum whenever they were sold and sent to live elsewhere. If Harper could have it her way, she would keep every single one. No matter the cost. In fact, it was a dream of hers.Luckily for her parents, as Harper aged her Tantrums would begin to cease. What was once ear piercing wails turned to torrent tears….silent, torrent tears. A less off putting reaction for the customers to experience then the former. But to Harper the pain still stung all the same. She never outgrew the feeling that every Ostrich was like family. And while it was a negative trait towards the sales of such creatures, having such strong emotional ties to them made her an excellent helping hand on the farm. The chick flaps it’s wingsEveryday Harper would be the first to rise in the morning. Beating even the distant Roosters that crowed on neighboring farms. Her family always joked that she herself was the Rooster on their farmer with how energetic and loud she was even before the sun rose. But that energetic and loud spirit also completed every chore by the time the morning sun finally rose. This was a breath of fresh air to have on the farm as her parents got up there in years. Though that breath of air would hick every now and then whenever they would hear a clattering of buckets out in the distance. While Harper was a beyond dedicated worker, she also tended to have a rather clumsy side to her. Spilt feed, toppled haybales, broken fence gates, Harper has managed to cause it all. But while her topsy turvy trait was a heart stopper for her parents, Harper would never hesitate to fix the problem she caused right on the spot. Granted she typically dawned new bandaids after every instance but the farm itself would be back in pristine shape! She would take any scrape if it meant aiding the farm.A Storm jostles the nestBut all good times come to an end. Over the years, the demand for Ostrich related products began to dwindle. A dozen eggs sold here, a few feather batches there, it was still business but, not near enough to sustain the farm. Harper’s parents did they best the could to hide such information from Harper. But when the farm became on the verge of bankruptcy, they couldn’t delay the inevitable any longer. When the news finally broke, to much of her parents shock, Harper took the news surprisingly…well. Instead of falling into grief as suspected, Harper would jump into action. Perhaps she was running on the first stage of grief; Denial , but she wasn’t about to let her family’s farm slip through their fingers so easily.Mounds of flyers would soon line the Coopers home. One with a hand written advertisement of the Coopers farm alongside small childish doodles to help catch any passerbys eye. It wasn’t a shock that their family wasn’t the best in the terms of advertising their farms services. Up until now they had solely relied on word of mouth for their services. But with the looming thought of bankruptcy threatening them, Harper decided to take a more ‘new school’ approach to things. With a knapsack slung over her shoulder and her own two feet to carry her, Harper would walk to all the neighboring towns. Handing out mounds of flyers to each as well as attempt to socialize with the inhabitants about how grand it would be to purchase from the Cooper Farm! However, there would be a major flaw with Harpers plan…Harper was not skilled in the terms of promoting in the slightest. Instead of telling the people the pros of purchasing Ostrich related products, Harper would ramble on about the Ostriches themselves instead. She would end up spending hours going off on tangents about each and every one. From their personality traits down to every feather on their adorable bodies Harper would relay it. By the time she was done, the poor victim to her rambles would know every Ostrich on the Cooper Farm by name and feather color. What they didn’t know however, was the benefits of purchasing from such a farm…or that they had anything to be purchased at all.The fledgling journeys to fix the nestSo despite all of Harper’s advertising efforts, the farm still remained on the verge of bankruptcy. Her parents growing more stressed by the day as they struggled to pulled together funds. It broke Harper’s heart to see them this way. The people who always wore smiles no matter what…She couldn't stand to see them fade.So she’d hit the road once again, Knapsack flung over her shoulder once more. This time however, instead of flyers being stuffed into every crevice, her bag would bear an assortment of clothing and other travelling needed items. If the farm needed money to survive, then she was determined to go out and earn that money whereever she could.Initially it started as small ranch hand jobs or any needed handy work along the road. Though, just as she got settled, a ‘clumsy’ mishap would send her packing every time. After the twelfth attempt, she could feel her drive begin to fade. The final stage of grief slowly threatening her own smile with each passing rejection.“Was all this worth it?”“Would she be able to save the farm…and her parents smiles?”It wouldn’t be until she came across a flyer, one speaking of new beginnings that a certain warmth would return to her expression. Hope finding its way to shoo away those clouds of grief that threatened.Maybe there was still a chance.Maybe…The answer to her family problems would lie in BlueBell.
